This site is one of three blogs that I maintain regularly.
1) New Music Strategies
This is a blog specifically for people in the music business. Any facet of music business — from record label to retailer, independent musician to tour manager. The site is intended to give helpful tips and advice on how to use new technologies (primarily internet technologies). The idea is that by understanding the new environment, independent music business can come up with creative, entrepreneurial solutions that will generate economic growth and sustainability in the digital age.
2) The Wireless
This has been my primary blog for the past 4 and a half years. It was about all sorts of things I was interested in, but when the New Music Strategies site came on board, it kind of lost direction a little bit. Lacking the internet music stuff to concentrate on, it sort of drifted. From January 2007, it’s being reinvented as an mp3 blog. I’ll still talk about the stuff I’m interested in, but it will all revolve around music that I love and actively recommend. I’ll play you a track, and tell you an anecdote that it connects to, or that I associate with it. We’ll see where that takes us.
3) The Dubber WordPress site
Cunningly titled ‘Andrew Dubber’, this site that you’re looking at now is just about me. Things I’ve been up to, the family, the stuff I’m studying and researching, the funny thing that happened on the way to the cafe — and in fact, all the stuff that doesn’t fit in anywhere else.
It’s designed for friends and family to stay up to date with all the little things I’ve been getting up to, but I don’t really mind if other people read it too. After all, we live in an age where scutinising the tedious minutiae of the lives of people we don’t know is considered entertainment…
