Happy Bobsday

It was Bobbie’s birthday this week. Bobbie has a week’s worth of birthday.
It’s a birthweek.

Friends celebrate Bobbie’s big day at the Bulls Head, Moseley

Bobbie was born on the 9th of June, but as the youngest of 12, there was a mixup in the early years, and it was celebrated on the 6th. These days, she claims both, and includes the two days in-between for good measure.

It was a ‘Jibbering Sessions at the Bulls Head‘ night, so we went down and met friends there and had a few drinks. Robin was DJ-ing, so it was a reggae night, and everyone was in a good mood.

Champagne flowed, there were pressies and we all had a good time. That was on the 6th.

The next day, Bob also met up with a friend from New Zealand who bought her Krispie biscuits and sultana pasties.

Jake and I gave Bob her gifts on Wednesday morning (Dr Hauschka stuff, a book, and wasabi nuts), but there was a delay on the main present that we’d ordered specially from New Zealand. Three CDs of really great kiwi music:

Black Seeds CDAdi DickHollie Smith.

They turned up on Friday, so there was another staggered bit of unwrapping to do.

On Friday night, she went and met some friends for a Jam Jah gig at Rooty Frooty and, although it was a little on the rough side, and a fight broke out at one or two points in the evening, it was kind of peripheral and irritating more than worrying. Still a good night, from what I hear.

As a result, the celebration, music, drinks and receiving of gifts was staggered over the four days, which is a good way to keep the birthday feeling going.

Mum, Dad, Kerryn & Haydn rang via Skype from New Zealand this morning to say Happy Birthday, so that kept it going for just one more day.

Now that it’s over, it’s time to start getting excited about Christmas, when there will be more pressies.

    Happy Birthweek Bobbie!

I’m liking this 4 days of celebration thing though. Mine’s in a couple of weeks on a Friday, wonder if I can elongate it into a full week of celebrations… :)
